Product description
The soft, laconic image of the folding is made in the form of an Easter egg, decorated with a lush floral ornament that weaves the letters of the festive monogram "XV". Embodying the joyful news of Christ's Resurrection, the fold is dedicated to the triumph of the gift of eternal life, the crown of faith and great truth. Multilevel friezes frame the picturesque product with bouquets, carved petals, "pearl" beads and inscribe in the base the words of the prayer-stichera, read during the Easter Procession: "Thy Resurrection, O Christ the Savior, the Angels sing in heaven, and vouchsafe us on earth." The lower part of the egg-fold, which turns into a pedestal, resembles a blooming flower, symbolically correlated with the image of the Resurrection, and the top is crowned with the image of the life-giving cross with the symbol of the Holy Spirit. The folding egg reflects the most important events of sacred history: Christmas, Epiphany and the Resurrection of Christ. The revealed triptych opens a view of the "Descent into Hell" icon, which since early Christian times retains the main meaning of the feast of the Resurrection of Christ, telling how the crucified Christ descended into hell to bring out the Old Testament righteous. The three-dimensional miniature depicts Jesus Christ descending into hell. He tramples on the crushed gates of hell, holding a cross in his left hand and extending his right hand to the kneeling Adam. Following Adam, Eve looks hopefully at the Savior. Behind Christ, a crowd of righteous people rises from the abyss of hell, going to heaven. The icon is framed by a filigree belt with the words of Easter hymns: "Christ is Risen from the dead, correcting death, and giving life to those who are in the grave. Christ is Risen!" The Nativity of Christ icon, presented to the left of the central folding icon, tells about the greatest event — the coming to earth of the Son of God in the cave of Bethlehem, reflected in the Gospel of Luke. The main features of this iconography developed by the 7th century and were widespread up to the 17th century. The Holy Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph knelt at the manger of the Infant of God, over which the Star of Bethlehem shone. In the background are the images of shepherds, who, according to the Holy Scriptures, were the first to be honored to worship the Savior, an Angel of the Lord appeared to them and said: "Do not be afraid: for I bring you great good news, which will be to all people, for today you will have a Savior, who is Christ the Lord, in the city of David." Along the contour of the icon are the words of the troparion: "Thy Nativity, O Christ our God, ascendest into the world the light of reason, for in it we serve the stars." The icon "Epiphany of the Lord", located to the right of the center, tells about the Christian holiday celebrated in honor of the baptism of Jesus Christ. The Epiphany of the Lord, also called the Epiphany, commemorates the Savior who was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan, and the three angels who bowed down to Christ and, like the recipients of the baptismal font, holding veils in their hands. A dove, a symbol of the Holy Spirit, and rays of "threefold light" descend on the Savior standing in the water. During the baptism, "heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and there was a voice from heaven saying, "You are my beloved Son; in You I am well pleased." The holy image is framed by the words of the festive troparion.: "I who am baptized in the Jordan, O Lord, have been worshipped threefold: for the voice of the parents has testified to you."
