Bullseye to Apple Rescue

This small apple was made in honor of the holiday "Apple Savior" — on this holiday the Orthodox Church honors the Transfiguration of the Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ. The ripening of fruits in orchards by the end of summer, rewarding them with the work of the whole year, is a visible image of the future transformation of the world. The consecration of fruits on the day of the Transfiguration is an expression of hope that all earthly labors will be sanctified by the grace of God.
