Virgin Mary’s Song Bracelet

The bracelet’s links are shaped like eight-pointed stars, an element of Christian iconography symbolizing the perpetual virginity of the Mother of God. The central stone on each link is edged with pearls and embellished with sumptuous Novgorodian ornamentation. The intervening links continue the motifs of this vibrant pattern. The bracelet forms part of Vladimir Mikhailov’s collection, along with the Virgin Mary’s Song Ring. The artist’s initials are engraved on the clasp, and the fastening has two loops which hold the bracelet securely in place.
