Worldwide recognition
In nature, platinum is much rarer than gold. The majority of the world's deposits (more than 90%) are concentrated in just five countries: South Africa, the USA, Russia, Zimbabwe and China. Platinum has been used for jewelry since the 18th century and quickly gained recognition as an ideal material for setting precious stones, especially diamonds. Its noble white color does not distort the play of light in the stone, but only emphasizes its purity.
Platinum 950 samples
Vladimir Mikhailov's collection uses a 950 platinum alloy, which means that it contains 95% pure platinum and only 5% alloying additives. This composition provides the products with exceptional strength and wear resistance: they practically do not wear out and retain their mirror shine for a long time. At the same time, the alloy remains quite malleable, which is especially important when working with precious stones – the risk of damaging the stone when installed in the frame is minimal.
Jewelry craftsmanship
Working with platinum requires the highest level of skill. It is a difficult-to-process material, but it allows jewelers to achieve a filigree study of the smallest details, the finest lines of the pattern and elegant carvings. In Vladimir Mikhailov's collection, platinum becomes not just a background, but a full–fledged participant in the artistic idea - a material in which the rigor of form acquires a special expressiveness. By choosing platinum, you are choosing something that is timeless.
