The words of the Troparion of the Nativity are engraved on the ring, which features a small pendant in the form of an eight-pointed star. This ‘bright morning star’ reminds us both of Jesus Christ and of the sign of His birth: the star of Bethlehem, which shone over the cradle of our Saviour.
