The ring-fold "Bethlehem Star" contains the light of Christmas and the symbols of the Orthodox faith. An eight-pointed star shines on the top of the ring, symbolizing the Star of Bethlehem, which illuminated the path to the newborn Savior. Inside the ring, protected by the rays of the star, there is an icon depicting the Holy Family – Mary, bent over the baby Jesus, and St. Joseph on the other side of him. This holy canonical scene, captured in the ring, grants peace, tranquility and hope to its bearer. The words of the first troparion of the feast of the Nativity of Christ are engraved on the inside of the folding door: "Thy Nativity, O Christ our God, hast raised up the light of reason in the world...". They remind us of the great joy that Christmas brought Light and hope for redemption to the world.
