St. Tikhon of Medyn was a Kaluga wonderworker who lived in the 15th century. The icon depicts St. Tikhon praying in front of the icon of the Savior, fortified in the hollow of a large oak tree against the backdrop of a magnificent monastery built by the labors of his disciples. The reverse side of the icon depicts the Golgotha Cross with the Instruments of the Passion of Christ.
