St. Sergius of Radonezh

Russian Russian Saint Sergius of Radonezh is the greatest ascetic of the Russian land, revered by the Russian Orthodox Church in the face of saints as a monk. The icon depicts a miraculous vision revealed to Sergius during night prayer - a divine glow emanates from heaven, and from all sides many birds flock to the praying saint, and a voice from heaven says that his prayers have been accepted by the Lord and that the multitude of birds is comparable to the multitude of his disciples. On the reverse side of the icon is an image of the Golgotha Cross.
