Holy Prince Vladimir, Equal to the Apostles

The icon, made in the form of a military shield, features the image of the Holy Prince Vladimir, Equal to the Apostles. The Great Prince of Kiev, under whom the baptism of Rus took place, accomplished much for Christian enlightenment and for the expansion of the borders of the Russian land. On this icon, the holy prince raises an eight-pointed cross in his right hand, placing his left hand on a military sword. On the reverse side of the icon is the image of the Holy Cross against the background of the Jerusalem wall.
