Holy Martyrs Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov and their mother Sophia

On the front side of the icon, which resembles the outlines of a three-domed temple, is placed the image of the pious daughters: Faith, Hope, Love and their holy mother Sophia. The Holy Sisters suffered martyrdom during the persecution of Christians in Rome. The Holy righteous women are revered throughout the Orthodox world as the personification of holiness and purity, devotion to the Lord and courage in serving Him. The opening words of the prayer addressed to the holy saints are given on the back of the icon.
