The round-shaped icon is framed by a picturesque border and features the Face of the Savior against a background of falling snow. This image of Christ is called the Savior Not Made with Hands. According to the biblical legend, the image on the board appeared by a miracle after the Savior wiped his face with it. On the reverse side there is an image of four six—winged Seraphim united by the image of an equilateral Greek cross.
