The Holy Martyr Nikita of Gotfa was one of the zealous preachers and soldiers of Christ of the fourth century. The saint is depicted in military armor, holding up a life-giving cross in his right hand, and placing his left hand on the hilt of a naked sword. St. Nikita is revered by the Church as the patron saint of soldiers fighting for faith and Fatherland. On the reverse side of the icon is the Golgotha Cross with the instruments of the Passion of the Lord.
