The image of St. Natalia of Nicomedia is depicted on the icon, surrounded by petals and with a dove in the buttonhole. The early Christian Saint is revered as an example of a faithful, loving wife and selfless Christian woman, whose husband suffered a martyr's death for his faith. The Church venerates Saint Natalia as a martyr, who, having compassion on her spouse, showed the courage of faith in her feelings and work. The words of the saint's prayer run along the end of the icon. On the reverse side of the icon is an image of the Golgotha Cross.
