The Mother Power icon

In the center of the icon is the image of the Most Holy Theotokos in the iconographic canon "On the Recovery of the Dead." In the Orthodox tradition, this icon honors the Mother of God as an Intercessor and Comforter, who prayerfully appeals for those who have lost their way, weakened in faith, or found themselves in trouble. In it, motherhood is transformed from an earthly feeling into a feat of love and compassion, transformed into a mother's prayer for the whole world. The face of the Virgin is filled with silence and deep inner concentration. She doesn't just hold her Son in Her arms — She accepts the will of God, accepting His path from birth to the Cross. Her motherhood is not an earthly joy, but a feat of obedience and participation in the salvation of the world. The icon is decorated in an arched frame with floral ornaments, referring to the image of Mary as a life-giving spring. The words of prayer are inscribed on the end of the product: “Hail Mary, Virgin.” On the reverse side of the icon are engraved the words of the second prayer of St. Alexander Svirsky, an appeal to the intercessor of the human race: “To the intercessor of the Zealous, Tender-hearted Lord Mother, I run to You, O wretched and most sinful man.”
