Product description
The icon is a two-part piece of jewelry, the eye of which is made in the form of an angel holding the baby Jesus in his arms. According to legend, Evdokia renounced an unrighteous life and converted to Christianity after the Archangel Michael appeared to her. Becoming abbess of the convent, she led a righteous and ascetic life until the ruler of neighboring lands came with an army to destroy the holy monastery. She was given a vision that she was destined to suffer for Christ, and Saint Evdokia went out to the attackers and was martyred.
The arched frame of the icon is decorated with a delicate ornament of floral curls, giving it a special grace and solemnity. The face of the Great Martyr is made with subtle expressiveness, reflecting the power of faith and the fortitude of the holy spirit, which helped her overcome the hardships of her martyrdom. The words of the fourth voice of the canon, dedicated to the saint, are inscribed on the front of the icon: "Strive for goodness in your suffering." The perimeter of the product is engraved with the words of prayer, an appeal to the patronage of the holy Martyr – "Oh, holy saint of God"
The combination of these two sacred elements emphasizes the harmony between heavenly protection and earthly intercession. The icon recalls the eternal presence of God's grace, inspiring a pious life and strengthening the faith of the wearer.
