This collection features works that have taken the form of cabinet art. Table icons and panagias, created in the ancient Novgorod technique of fine plastic, are small iconostases that can be contemplated in the silence of the home space. Eternal images come to life here: Lordly images, icons of the Mother of God and hagiographic icons of saints. The filigree work of the faces, exquisite floral ornaments, pearl trim and the finest metal carvings transform each piece into a work of high jewelry art. Panagia in the form of banners crowned with imperial crowns or in the form of Easter eggs, mounted on miniature pedestals, fill the space with a special meaning, becoming not just an interior decoration, but a visible reminder of the eternal and a family heirloom passed down from generation to generation.
