The oval medallion embodies the main episode of the Passion of the Lord ― the Crucifixion. In the center of the iconography is the figure of Jesus Christ on the cross, and on the sides are the Virgin Mary and the beloved disciple of Jesus, the Apostle John. At the foot of the Crucifixion is Mount Golgotha with the skull of Adam, whose sin was redeemed by the death of the Savior. On the reverse side of the medallion are the words of the festive prayer "We worship Your Cross, Vladyka."
